Hello gang, I’ve been down and out for the count for about a week with whatever is making the rounds this year. I had until last night forgotten about a great remedy I learned from a certain “Lucy” (you know who you are)! It’s a Guatemalan potion that REALLY does make you feel better quicker, at least in my experience.
Take a medium pan of water and add , 1 sliced up lemon, 1 red apple, a handful of fresh mint, a cinnamon stick, a few whole cloves, 2-3 cut up cloves of garlic, about a 1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper and some sliced ginger root. Bring it to a boils then simmer, I let it go about 30 mins. Drink hot with a good dose of honey, bundle up and watch a classic movie!! I normally start feeling a bit better after a few cups spread out over a day, 1 every 3-4 hours. Hope you won’t need this but if you do it has alway done the trick!
You can never go wrong by adding in some homemade chicken soup. I found a recipe online that was studied at a mid-western university that included turnips which I had never though of. Evidently the are some very good anti-bacterial properties in turnips!! The soup was also delicious by the way!
A big fan of essential oils I also like to do a steam vapor with Tea Tree oils and Eucalyptus. Just a few drops of each into a panful of boiled water then use a big towel to make a breathing tent, excellent for opening blocked up sinuses!!!
